New Delhi, 21 August 2025 : Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar has once again come into the limelight for her outspoken statement. Recently, she gave an interview with her husband and Samajwadi Party leader Fahad Ahmed. In this conversation, Swara said that "If humans are left free, we are all bisexuals. But heterosexuality i.e. attraction towards the opposite sex has been imposed on the society."

Swara and Fahad are currently seen in a new show "Pati Patni Aur Panga - Jodiyon Ka Reality Check". The show is hosted by comedian Munawar Farooqui and actress Sonali Bendre. In an interview given during the promotion of the show, Swara expressed her outspoken opinion.

She further said that humans have been taught for thousands of years that heterosexuality is the "norm". All this was done so that humans could reproduce and society could move forward. During the conversation, the anchor joked that Fahadh should close his ears because Swara also said that "I have a crush on Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav."

As soon as the video of the interview surfaced, people reacted strongly on social media. Many users linked it to Swara's political ambition. Someone said, "Now she is trying for a ticket in the Samajwadi Party." Another user wrote, "It is not 'we', it is only 'they'. If she considers herself bisexual then it is fine." At the same time, some people questioned, "Why is one's thinking being imposed on everyone?"

Personal disclosure or philosophical view?

Many people are considering this as a big disclosure of Swara's personal life. But in reality it can be called her philosophical and scientific view. Sexuality has been debated all over the world for a long time.

Historians say that the word "heterosexuality" was first used in 1868. After 1930, it started getting social recognition. Sigmund Freud had said that all humans have bisexual potential from birth. But society, culture and rules push humans in one direction. That is why heteronormativity i.e. male-female attraction is often considered normal.

Modern scientists believe that human attraction is a spectrum. Very few people are completely heterosexual or completely homosexual. Most people are somewhere in between. However, from a biological point of view, many scientists also argue that heterosexuality is more normal for procreation.
